More Reviews Coming Your Way!

First of all, I apologize for my laziness regarding this blog. However, I will be posting new updates very soon, so huzzah! [throws confetti] I'll be trying my best to review all of the round four winners over at The Madrigal, unless an author does not give me permission to review their story. Sorry for the delay, and thanks for reading :)

The Great Cahill Switch by screamattheskyx3

Title: The Great Cahill Switch
Author: screamattheskyx3
Summary: What if Dan was Ian's brother and Natalie was Amy's sister? Find out how the story unfolds in the first 39 Clues book as our favorite characters take on new roles.

Review:

It's an interesting take on the hunt. It's considered AU, because of the switch of roles, but the idea and the way the writer carries out the plot is well-developed.

The story starts out right after Grace's untimely death, just like the series. Almost immediately, you are introduced to the two pair of siblings: two Kabra boys, and two Cahill girls. Both pairs contemplate how different they are from their "sibling", but it is all they know as right.

The plot proceeds to the hunt, and from then on... well, no spoilers. :)

As said earlier, this story is well-written, with correct grammar, spelling, and in-character characters... even if they aren't themselves.

If you're looking for a change from the norm, be sure to check out this original.

When Kabra Met the Cobra by Syberian Quest

`Title: Syberian Quest
Author: When Kabra Met the Cobra
Summary: The Kabras. They are one of the most feared and powerful families in the entire world. But where did they start? Who was the first? This is the story of not just any Kabra, but the first Kabra. This is his journey from a nobody to a first-class cobra.

Review:

Without a doubt, you know that the title has already pulled you in.

Not only is the title a real eye-catcher, but the summary already indicates that this story is an original. The story only has two chapters as of now, but around seven thousand words have already been posted.

Overall, the story is about a Kabra ancestor as he makes his way through life, up to when he becomes what we all know as the prestigious Kabras today. A very interesting thought, and it is definitely interesting to see how the name we all know today came to be.

The writer, a great writer, has great grammar and spelling, without a doubt. She gives great details, as well, which  benefits to the story.

Make sure to keep your eye on this story, or you'll be missing out on a rare gem in this archive.

Morbid Curiosity by FoxFace Zero

Title: Morbid Curiosity
Author: FoxFace Zero
Summary: Post-Series On her deathbed, Irina Spasky has an unusual request for Ian Kabra... Call it morbid curiosity. Ian/Amy

Review:

Morbid Curiousity is one of the older stories of the archive, which is why not that many of the newer writers find it. A pity, because it truly is an interesting read. With a mixture of sarcasm, humor, action, and romance, it's everything you could ever want in an Amian story.

To summarize the story differently than the author herself, Irina is in the hospital, and is visited by her adopted son, Ian Kabra. She asks him to retell his story of how him and Amy got together. The story is told simply in dialogue as well, making it quite unique in its own way. But I shall stop there, and let you find out the rest yourself.

Personally, I adore both the story and the writer. She's a very nice girl, and talented, as well. I simply love the interactions between Irina and Ian. The insults are hilarious, from "Bet you miss your soul" (chapter eight) to "glib little turd" (chapter fifteen). Not only is the humor worth laughing your butt off, but there's also drama and action, which makes it all worth it.

Not to mention this story won the first round at The Madrigals (an awards site for The 39 Clues) for Best Romance.

And it totally deserved it! With great grammar and spelling and a driving plot, not reading this would be like passing up a chance to go to an amusement park.

Don't miss out on this classic Ian/Amy story of the archive!

Welcome!

Welcome, 39 Clues fanfiction readers! Looking for a good read of fanfiction? Look no further! I'll be reviewing popular and grammatically correct stories - the treasures of the archive.

http://www.fanfiction.net/book/39_Clues

Feel free to give some suggestions for a story! Please provide either a link or the author's penname.

Guidelines for Reviewing:
- I will not flame any story.
- I will not read a story that breaks ToS or is grammatically incorrect with horrid spelling.
- If the story is a multi-chaptered story, it must have more than four thousand words.
- If the story is a oneshot, it must have more than a thousand words. Exception: poetry/drabble.

I will try to review stories that are in more progress than most. I prefer not to review stories with less than four chapters, due to the fact that most readers want to be able to read something that might have the chance of being completed rather than being left to rot.

Also, I always get the author's permission before writing the review.

Thank you for reading.

- Amy
